Good for tax time

I signed up for Shoeboxed a couple months ago, mainly for the Magic Envelope service. I had a huge pile of receipts from last year that I needed to get organized for tax season. The envelope arrived within a week of ordering it. I stuffed everything in and sent it off. It took about two weeks for them to process all my papers once they got it, which felt a little long, but I guess it was a lot of receipts. The digital copies were clear and the categorization was mostly accurate. I had to make a few edits, but that was easy enough to do in the dashboard. I also tried out the mileage tracker for a bit; it worked okay but I didn't stick with it. Customer support was helpful when I called about a missing receipt, they tracked it down pretty quick. Overall, it definitely saved me a lot of time and headache.

Okay, but some issues

I got Shoeboxed to help with my business expenses. The mobile receipt capture works pretty well, like just point and shoot. I sent in a Magic Envelope too, and it got processed eventually. My main issue was with the OCR data extraction; it wasn't always perfect, so I had to go in and fix some entries. It's still better than doing it all by hand, though. I ended up connecting it to Xero, which was pretty straightforward. It does what it says, mostly. I guess it's a decent service for managing receipts.

Easy receipt scanning

Used the mobile app to scan receipts. It was pretty quick. Exported to QuickBooks without issues. Saved me time. Glad I tried it.
